Frequently Asked Questions
We recommend a visit at EXPERIMINTA for children from pre-school age. However, these children require guidance from adult accompanying persons in any case. There is no upper age limit in EXPERIMINTA. Children and grandparents can enjoy marvelling, researching and having fun together.
Since you can try out (almost) everything yourself at EXPERIMINTA, experience shows that the duration of your stay in our museum is significantly longer than in other museums. You should plan 3 to 4 hours with interested children to be on the safe side. If you really want to explore everything, you should bring much more time with you.
For group visits with school classes, a period of about 2 to 2.5 hours has proven to be a good idea.
Unfortunately, the Museumsufercard and the Museumsufertickets are not valid for us.
However, there are discounts for holders of the Kulturpass, the Ehrenamtscard, the Frankfurt Pass and the Frankfurt Card, among others.

You can pay at our cash desk in cash or with EC- and credit card.
We also offer large pre-booked groups the possibility to pay on account by prior arrangement. If you are interested, please contact us in good time before your visit.
You can either park in our visitors' car park, drive into one of the surrounding public car parks or find a parking space on the street. Here, however, mainly residents' parking spaces are indicated and the few freely usable parking spaces are mostly occupied.
Our visitors' car park has a very limited capacity, so that when there is a large number of visitors (especially at weekends, on public holidays and during school holidays) there are not always free parking spaces available. We therefore ask for your understanding that we are not able to provide a parking space directly at the house for every visitor from out of town.
EXPERIMINTA is accessible to wheelchair users. The entrance for wheelchair users is located in the courtyard. The way there is signposted from the main entrance. Please ring the bell there. You will then be picked up.
A key for the lift can be borrowed at the ticket office for a deposit (photo ID), so that wheelchair users can also visit all floors.
We have a small picnic area for our visitors on the ground floor, where you can eat and drink what you have brought with you. Eating and drinking in the exhibition rooms is prohibited.
If required, you can also get small snacks and drinks in our cafeteria on the first floor. Please note their separate opening hours.
Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed in the EXPERIMINTA. This does not apply to guide dogs for the disabled or guide dogs for the blind.
Anthough we are often asked about it, we do not offer guided tours. Every visitor should explore the experimental stations at their own pace and at their own leisure. Guided tours with fixed schedules are rather obstructive. Therefore we have deliberately decided not to offer guided tours.
Registered groups are given an introduction to the principle of a science center at the beginning and can then experiment on their own.
For learning and school groups we offer various working materials as an alternative to a guided tour.
We keep all lost property for a few weeks. Please contact info(at)experiminta. with your request and describe as precisely as possible what you are missing. Our staff will then check whether something suitable was found. You are welcome to collect the items from us afterwards or have them sent to your address for a refund of postage and packaging. de
After the deadline has expired, we will forward the lost property to the lost property office of the City of Frankfurt at Kleyerstraße 86. You can reach the lost property office by calling 069 / 21 24 24 03.
