For the visit, we recommend preparing a specific work assignment for the group. You are welcome to use the materials provided here for free.
Please note that the materials for secondary school classeare currently available in German only.
To download the worksheets, please refer to the German page.
If you are interested, you can also use the worksheets in combination for a learning day, so that the pupils deal with the aspects of scientific experimentation. In addition to the technical content, the focus is particularly on the methodical procedure of experimentation: Experiments as a methodical test of hypotheses and as systematic exploration.
Divide your class into small working groups of 3 to 4 pupils. Each group will be given the task of working through three to four of the stations. You should calculate about 20 minutes per station. After about 90 minutes, all of them should meet again at the end. Each group will then present a particular station at the final meeting on site or in your next class. Discuss the general learning content on the methodical approach to experimentation.
For high school classes, worksheets are available for numerous experimental stations, which you are welcome to use in class. They deal with topics such as oscillations and waves, motion and force. Please note that the materials are currently available in German only.
To download the worksheets, please refer to the German page.
If you don’t want to use the worksheets but still want to give your group an assignment during the visit, we recommend the following:
Â
Before the visit, give the students the assignment of choosing a favourite experiment (individually or in groups). They should then describe it in detail (e.g. what it looks like, what you can do, what happens and why). The description could also take the form of a presentation, a poster or an essay, for example.
